How To Create A Daily Routine That Works For You

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

How To Create A Daily Routine That Works For You

Are you a disorganized mess some days? You get to the end of the day, collapse on the couch exhausted, and you realize that you accomplished NONE of the things you really wanted to… especially those few tasks that you know help you and your body feel your best.

Listen, I don’t want you to feel ashamed by that, but I also don’t want you to continue NOT accomplishing the most important things for your health...whether that’s for your body’s physical health or your mental and spiritual health. I don’t want you to keep feeling like every day steamrolls you, and you’re constantly waiting for it to get better and to finally pull yourself together.

Last week, I shared with you what my own daily routine looks like. Hopefully it inspired you a little bit, but the last thing I want you to try and do is copy me. So today on the podcast, this is part two - and it’s all about YOU. I’m going to help you get a little more organized and create a daily routine that actually works for you. And be sure to listen the whole way because I have a special gift for you this week, too. Something that I know you’re really going to love.

How to create a routine that actually works for you

  • Keep your personality in mind.
  • Are you a perfectionist?
  • Are you spontaneous?
  • Are you already really good at routines and structure?
  • Start with your non-negotiable habits - the 3-5 things that if you were to accomplish them each day make you feel healthy and put together
  • Look at the structure of your day right now -
  • What’s working for you already and what’s not working for you
  • Keep in place the things that are working and remove anything that’s not
  • Try to identify the moments when you have the most energy and mental clarity
  • Use those moments for anything that requires the most motivation (like a workout) or the most cognitive abilities
  • Identify the moments of your day when you usually have the lowest energy
  • At the very least, establish a wake up time and a bedtime.
  • Sprinkle the whole thing with grace! Anticipate obstacles, curveballs, and millions of little fires that will throw you off course.
  • Get right back into your routine at the first chance you get

Examples/Case Studies (You can do this, too!):

  • All of this reminds me of a client of mine that had zero routine. She was always a disorganized mess, and because of that, the most important things for her health and self care were falling through the cracks. I encouraged her to start with just one thing: create a routine with one habit, that’s it. So we started with breakfast. We kept it a little loose so she didn’t get panicky and feel restricted, and we decided that she was going to eat breakfast between 7 and 8 am every weekday, and that breakfast was going to be one of three different healthy breakfast options.
  • That breakfast was the only thing on her routine and the only thing she needed to focus on. Because we kept it so simple, she got really good at it. And wouldn’t you know it, but that regular breakfast had a snowball effect on the rest of her day. She could clearly see the difference in her habits between the days that she committed (there’s that word again) to eating that breakfast and the days that she missed it.

Summary

The big idea here is that…having a daily routine can be really good and helpful, but they CAN go sideways if you’re not careful.

So what I want you to do now is begin building out small pieces of a routine that’s healthy and life-giving for you, and then be committed to it while at the same time extending yourself grace.
