What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Weightlifting…

You’re either sold on it, you love it and do it regularly… OR it’s just not your thing. You’re afraid you might get hurt, it’s going to make you bulky, or you just don’t have the time to figure out.

I brought my good friend Lesley McShane on the show with us today to talk all about weightlifting, and specifically the BIG 6: the big 6 lies that we tell ourselves about weightlifting.

Lesley is a fellow certified personal trainer, the host of the Redesigning Midlife podcast, and an avid cycler, so she has an interesting perspective on this topic and talks more about that near the end.

If you’ve been dragging your feet about lifting weights and just strength training in general, this one’s for you.

Highlights from this interview…

I shared a post a little while ago on IG that I think caught some women off guard. I said that if you want to stay weak & fragile as you age only do walking as your primary form of exercise, lift really light weights, and sit a lot.

That last one is pretty obvious.  But the first two points (about how walking isn’t going to cut it and lifting only itty-bitty weights isn’t going to cut it) ruffled a few feathers.

As a trainer yourself, have you experienced this kind of pushback or doubt about weightlfiting?

What are the actual stats? Despite all the evidence, how many women are actually lifting weights right now?

What are the 6 lies that women are believing about weightlifting?

  1. Lifting weights will make me too big & bulky.
  2. I don’t have time to go to the gym, and that’s where I have to go to lift weights.
  3. I’m too old, and it’s too hard to do.
  4. It may hurt my joints, and I might injure myself.
  5. I need to burn calories, so I’m just going to stick with cardio.
  6. Weightlifting isn’t for women, just men.

Lesley, how has weightlifting helped YOU, personally?

To wrap up I always like to leave women with one simple action step that they can put into place TODAY. What is one simple thought or tip that you would encourage everyone listening to implement?
